Maddie and Alex’s Catalina Island engagement photos were insanely gorgeous and intimate. When Alex reached out about surprising Maddie at their family home in Catalina Island, I was ecstatic! Alex proposed in front of family and friends in an intimate dinner. When I arrived the next day, it was all celebrations, love and excitement.
This was my first trip to Catalina Island. You can take a boat from Southern California to Avalon, California and it truly feels like you are arriving to Italy. It is so private, quaint, and everything is up on a hill overlooking the gorgeous ocean. It is truly incredible – if you have never been it is definitely a Southern California bucket list destination!
We started taking their engagement photos at their family home. The home has a stunning view of the water up on the hill, this is the same place where Alex had proposed to Maddie the night before. Next, we took a golf cart around the island and explored different spots! There are so many areas to explore on Catalina Island for their engagement photos and it felt like we had the island to ourselves.
As a destination wedding photographer, I love being able to travel and explore new locations with my couples.
