Cayanne and Cory’s beach wedding in Exuma, Bahamas was one for the books! As their wedding photographer, I had the honor of capturing every beautiful moment of their special day at the exquisite Grand Isle resort in Exuma, Bahamas. What I loved most about their day, besides the incredible beach backdrop, was how they turned their wedding into a full-on experience for their guests. It was more than just a one day celebration and it was just so, so beautiful!
Cayanne and Cory’s love story began like many modern couples—through online dating. They met in Cayanne’s hometown, Tulsa, OK, while Cory was stationed there for work. They quickly bonded over their love for cheering on the Bills and their adorable dog Biggie brought them even closer. Together, they enjoy embarking on home renovation projects, exploring new recipes, and cherishing quality time with their loved ones.
Choosing the Bahamas as their destination wedding location was an easy decision for Cayanne and Cory. They wanted a place where their guests could come together, relax, and truly enjoy the experience, and not just the wedding day itself. They practically had the entire resort to themselves. With guests arriving a few days prior to the ceremony, it allowed for plenty of beach and pool time, dinners, and quality time with everyone. It was everyone’s first time visiting the Bahamas, adding an extra layer of excitement to the entire celebration. By having their loved ones nearby for a few days before and after the wedding, they were able to savor every moment without feeling rushed and allowing them to be fully-present.
The wedding day perfectly reflected the laid-back and beachy atmosphere of the Caribbean. Cayanne and Cory started their day in separate villas on the resort, surrounded by their families. Heartfelt gifts were exchanged, filling the air with warmth and love. My favorite had to be Cayanne’s surprise gift for her twin sister, Carly – a sweet bracelet with the phrase “Day One ” engraved on it. The weather was divine, with crystal clear turquoise waters providing a breathtaking backdrop for their vows, and reception. Even the sunset came out for them that day! It was unlike any other sunset I’d seen before, it looked just like a painting.
As their wedding photographer, my goal was to create a relaxed and fun environment. I approach wedding days with a documentary-style; capturing precious moments that may be missed in the whirlwind of the day. I never want anyone’s wedding to feel like we are getting through a shot-list. You only get to have one wedding day and you should feel present and stress-free. It makes me so incredibly happy to hear how comfortable my couples feel with me during their wedding day and how they can relive the emotions of their wedding day through the final gallery. For me, it’s essential to provide that sense of ease and comfort, allowing them to be themselves and truly enjoy every special second!
